The site has been up and running for two weeks now. There are a few bugs I am working on and I will update this when they have been fixed.

Here is a list of what I have fixed and what I’m still working on.

Fixed:
—————————————-
Style sheet fixed for the navigation buttons, visited links no longer look like complete shit.

Problem with gziped .js files fixed.

Votes round to whole numbers now so you don’t see huge ugly numbers, like “Average rating 3.66666666664)

Sidebar stories cleaned up, this mostly had to do with the rounding numbers but it also had to do with a dumb padding issue in the stylesheet.

More than 5 stories on each page.

Things I’m working on still:
—————————————-
Submit images via a url link instead of having to upload an image.

Private message error in Safari.

Images to appear in a thickbox js popup instead of just a blank white page with the image. I’m having some issues with thickbox and scriptalicious fighting. I’ll figure it out though.

When you edit a comment it is confusing, makes it look like you are submitting a new one. I’ll work on this a bit later.

Time stories are submitted: I’m having some issues with this.

Site Design:
—————————————-

Some people have told me that the site design is too minimal and they don’t like it. They want some web 2.0 gradients maybe. Others have told me they really like how simple and clean it is. I had someone tell me yesterday that they find it odd that there aren’t ads all over the place. I thought this was kind of funny but I can see what she meant. I’m not used to seeing pages without ads either I guess. I have put a google text ad on the bottom but it’s sort of just filling space. I plan on taking it out I have just been playing with it. I don’t want to have ads anywhere unless I can’t afford hosting, so don’t worry about all that stuff.

As for the design here are my thoughts. I wanted to make a simple quick loading site that looked good. A lot of the work I’ve done has been very heavy on the graphics end. My first instinct was to put gradients and pretty javascript all over the place, but I held back and tried to make it clean and quick.

To be honest I’m not sure how I feel about the design. I like it but sometimes I want feel it needs to be spruced up a bit. I might need to rethink all the navigation links maybe. I should try to do something with the search box too. It works very well but it isn’t the best looking thing.

I’ll take another look at the design after I work out a few kinks and bugs in the code.

Let me know what you guys think. Do I need to do something else with the design? Fining any bugs or functionality with the site you think needs changing? Please let me know.
